First, Odebolt Mission Updates
First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt and Lake City Union Church held a clothing drive for the Orphan Grain Train during Lent. On March 31, Debbie Loger and Ruth Ann delivered clothes and plastic pants to the Orphan Grain Train in Ida Grove. The Orphan Grain Train folks were so excited to see all the clothes but especially the plastic pants. We were told they would go out the next day to Ukraine where they were desperately needed.
On May 6, First Presbyterian Church and church members donated bread, hamburger buns, and hot dog buns to the Mobile Community Food Bank in Odebolt. Roxie Meier made the delivery. An additional $100 was donated from the congregation making our mission donation to the Community Basket $300.
Thanks to all who assist in our missions!
Future mission projects being considered include a possible fall clothing drive for the Gospel Mission in Sioux City and another $200 donation to the October Community Basket. At the request of the G&M Committee the Session voted to not participate in the Thanksgiving meal project. At the time this mission was started, there wasn’t monthly Community Basket food deliveries. Other projects are being considered and will be discussed sometime this summer.
