Boundaries Training educational opportunity from your presbytery; Beyond the Basics: Elevating Your Abuse Awareness IQ
Join fellow Presbyterians for a half-day class covering abuse prevention and preventive procedures to keep your church community safe and healthy. Free to attend, open to everyone.
Church leaders aspire to provide a safe environment for all who walk through their doors. Abuse comes in various forms and can affect every person within your congregation. Learn how to recognize different types of abuse, discrimination, harassment and misconduct, how to determine if a situation is a concern, and how to prevent and respond to concerns all while still creating an encouraging and positive environment for everyone. Additionally, you will learn what a typical insurance investigation into allegations looks like and how you can best be prepared to defend against erroneous allegations.
Jeremy Butler, the Iowa Representative for the Insurance Board, will be present to answer questions about church insurance.
